Quick Note About ModaLX SS11

Hey guys! Since Thursday ModaLx has returned to our Lisbon. But, as always, it was reaaalllllllyyyyy difficult to get invitations. Here (in Portugal), there is like a "mafia" controlling the industry, that is to say, fashion is only for a small, tiny group of persons who don't let other persons get into the business. Got the idea? So, our fashion weeks are full of people who don't give a shit and just want to be there to show up in magazines. Of course there are exceptions, of course professionals are there as well. But the majority of people is not really into fashion, is just really into getting their 15 minutes of fame. It is a shame... Because I do think it would be wonderful to our market if we had the chance to post about all the fashion shows. However, we won't be doing that, instead we will be wondering what is happening right now inside those closed doors.

  1. Not only it is extremely difficult to get tickets to MLX, but it is also too stupid to work and get known in PT if you're not somebody's "sweet heart". You work and really try to do something for the national (and/or international) industry and you hardly get rewards. That close circle keeps the myth that fashion is only for few people in Portugal, an elite (that can - cause they have mirrors - dress pretty bad!).

Love the blog and the attitude. Congrats.
